Final Four 2009
I'm sorry that I haven't posted in about a month. I forgot the password to my old blog, so I had to make a new one. but have no fear, I'm back and better than ever. Now let's talk Final Four. First of all, my bracket is a little bit shot. I had an almost complete Sweet Sixteen and Elite 8, and I had 2/4 teams in the Final Four (UNC and UConn). You can look at my bracket here. Anyway, let's analyze the games. Michigan State vs. UConn: This is going to be a great game. Even though this is essentially a home game for Tom Izzo and the Spartans (State is only 75 miles from Detroit), I'm not sure they can necessarily upset Jim Calhoun's Huskies. While Michigan State has won 10 of their last 11 games, only one win was by a margin of over 12 points. By the way, who beat that Spartans in that one game that they lost in the past 11? On the other hand, the Huskies' only loss this year (2009) was an epic 6 OT battle with Syracuse at Madison Square Gahhhden. After most experts did NOT have them making the Final Four (BUT I DID!!!!!), UConn is looking to prove them wrong. I think Hasheem Thabeet will rally the Huskies to victory against the Spartans, but if they don't win, I'd be happy. UNC vs. Villanova: I was SOOOOOO HAPPY when Villanova beat Pitt. I mean wow. I love the upsets, no matter how small, like even a 3 seed over a 1 seed. I loved seeing Levance Fields cry like a pre-teen girl after they lost. Dejuan Blair maintained his composure, so way to go. But Villanova BARELY got the win. Do you really think that Villanova can beat a 32-4 North Carolina team that destroyed Oklahoma with a big game from the best player in the NCAA Blake Griffin, and a not-so-big game from Tyler Hansbrough? I didn't think so either. As for the championship game, what do you think?
